The Northumbria University Law School's Online Materials project provides a series of webcasts covering eight ‘core’ legal subjects: Crime, Contract, EU Law, Property Law, Public Law, Trusts, Tort and English Legal Systems.
The webcasts are short videos presented by an academic tutor who is a specialist in that particular subject and are designed to permit students to learn anytime and anywhere.
The videos are supplemented with supporting documents and links to useful websites. Multiple-choice quizzes have been produced so that students can check their progress and understanding of the topics.
Students use the webcasts by navigating through a series of flowcharts, which present the topics in a logical order to make the subject as easy as possible to understand.
These webcasts are not just a series of recorded lectures. They are an integrated, high quality, web-based learning package which enables students, using their preferred method of learning, to engage interactively with the core legal subjects.
